Nina D. Feldser
Nina D. Feldser, age 79, 346 Center St., Bloomsburg, died at her home at 9:30 p. m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 after being seriously ill for two weeks.
Born in Bloomsburg on December 26, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Clarence S. and Faye E. (Kressler) Diltz. Her entire life was spent in the Bloomsburg area and she graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1952.
Nina was employed at the former S. H. Evert Co., Bloomsburg for 33 years as an executive secretary, retiring about 1994.
She was a member of the Beth Israel Synagogue, Bloomsburg.
Nina was active in many local organizations, serving as president of many of them and also as the recording secretary. Among them are the Woman's Civic Club; former Business & Professional Women's Club (BPW); the former Junior Women's Club; and the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary. She also was a member and volunteer at the Columbia County Historical Society; Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble; Bloomsburg University Performing Arts; and active in the Columbia County Republican party.
A long time member of the board of directors of the Columbia County Cancer Society, she was presented with the Ray J. Calabrese in recognition of her service to the organization. She also assisted with the monthly veterans luncheons.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry R. Feldser on July 26, 1984 and by two brothers: Eddie K. Diltz and Gary Diltz.
She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Valasquez and Rod Harter, Austin, Texas; a granddaughter, Ali Valasquez, Charlotte, N.C.; a grandson, Joey Valasquez, Sedona, Ariz.; a sister, Sandra D., wife of Wayne E. Shultz, Catawissa; and a brother, Lanny R. Diltz, and his wife Debra, Danville.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Mary B. Schmotzer, pastor of Shiloh United Church of Christ, Danville, officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p. m.
