Norma J. Higgins, age 74, of 201 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, died at 7:40 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for two days.
Born in Shamokin on October 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William J., Sr. and Florence E. (Whalen) Higgins. Norma resided in the Shamokin area her whole life.
Norma attended First Presbyterian Church, Shamokin. She enjoyed music and liked to dance, but she especially loved her family and time spent with them.
Surviving is a brother, William J. Higgins, Jr., wife Kay, Shamokin; two nieces: Doris, wife of Brendan Smith, Newtown Square and Sandy L., wife of Kerwin Bauer, Sunbury; five great nieces and nephews: Kaitlyn Smith, Brenna Smith, Emma Smith, Jonathan Bauer and Gavin Bauer.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8 in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with Rev. Dr. Robert J. Andrews, pastor of Grove Presbyterian Church, Danville, officiating. Visitation from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shamokin.
