Patricia A. "Pat" Eisenhart, age 83, 394 Stevens Hill Road, Benton, died unexpectedly at her home in the Village of Central on Monday evening, March 26, 2018.
Born in Gilberton, Schuylkill County on August 7, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Anastasia (Marcavage) Budusky. She resided in Central since 1985 and previously lived in Ashland. She was a 1952 graduate of the West Mahanoy Township High School, Shenandoah Heights and went on to study at the former Ashland State General Hospital School of Nursing.
Pat was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Ashland State General Hospital from 1973 to 1993 and she then transfered to the Hamburg Center for the mentally and physically handicapped, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Central where she taught Sunday school, served as a lector, served as a lay leader, assisted with yard sales, fund raisers, funeral luncheons and fish suppers. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society and the Northern Columbia County Cultural Center.
Pat was active in raising her nine children, teaching them responsibility and respect. She enjoyed camping, ceramics, cross stitching, reading and her greatest joy was fishing with her husband, Jim. In 2004 she developed macular degeneration and lost the ability to drive and read. She was a strong and independent woman who hated to ask for help.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Eisenhart on October 23, 2014; a son, Paul Robert Eisenhart in 2016; a great-grandson, Orion Brennan; and a great-granddaughter, Angelina Austin.
Surviving are eight children: Debbie Dunsmore, Lakeland, Fla.; Brenda C., wife of Charles Stief, State College; Linda James, Ashland; James D. Eisenhart, Jr., Ashland; Dianne Brennan, Ashland; Fawn Eisenhart, Locustdale; Patricia, wife of Randy Yeager, Numidia; Holly, wife of Daniel Demansky, Frackville; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four siblings: Joseph Budusky, and his wife Ann, New Castle, Del.; Bernie Schally, Frackville; Edward Rakowsky, and his wife Virginia, Frackville; Vera, wife of Leonard Grabowsky, Warrington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Christ United Methodist Church, 750 Central Road, Benton, with her pastor, Rev. Howard W. Leh officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a. m.
Memorial contributions may be sent in her memory to the Janet Weis Children's Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center, 100 N. Academy Avenue, Danville, Pa 17822.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton.
