Paul Thomas Connor
Paul Thomas Connor, age 76, Central Road (Carroll Park), Bloomsburg, peacefully left this earth in the presence of his family and the Lord at Geisinger-Columbia Montour Hospice At Maria Hall, Danville at 7:20 a. m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. He was surrounded by love and given compassionate care by the hospice team.
Born in Taylor on August 26, 1938, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Dunleavy) Connor. He was a graduate of St. Ann's Monastery High School, West Scranton in 1956. He resided in Bloomsburg since 2006 and formerly lived in Trevose.
Paul was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, socializing with friends at the Bloomsburg Senior Center, sitting on his front porch and waving at whoever passed by. He had a sweet tooth, especially for vanilla ice cream. But most of all, he loved his family; a love that was returned many times over.
He enjoyed working at the ABB Company, formerly Fischer & Porter, in Warminister, working there for 38 years, retiring in 2001.
Paul is survived by and was the beloved husband of the former Barbara M. Piontek, with whom he observed his 54th wedding anniversary on January 6, 2015; two daughters: Lisa A. Syms, Feasterville and Mary Anne, wife of Bradley Helfrich, Bloomsburg; three sons: Brian Connor, Forest Grove, Ore.; Mark T. Connor, and his wife Ronda, Bend, Ore.; and Joseph W. Connor, Oregon City, Ore.; and five grandchildren: Victoria Syms Norton, Eugene, Ore.; Sierra, Brandon and Autumn Helfrich, Bloomsburg; and Banyan Connor, Bend, Ore.
Also surviving are four brothers: James Connor, Eloy, Ariz.; William Connor, Perkasie; Anthony Connor, and his wife Dorothy, Scranton; and John Connor, and his wife Gert, Duryea.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Hennigan; Ann Buldowski and Catherine Scott; and a brother, Joseph Connor.
Paul Thomas Connor will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and those whose lives he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, by his pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will be made in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
