Paul W. Johnson
Paul W. Johnson, age 80, 1146 Ridge Road, Bloomsburg, died at his home on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2 a. m. He was in failing health since being injured in an accident in December, 1999.
Born in Pine Township on January 31, 1933, he was a son of the late Warren and Ella (Stackhouse) Johnson. He resided in the Lightstreet area for 53 years.
Paul was a 1951 graduate of Benton Area High School.
He was employed as a service technician by Energy Technology Co., Drums for a number of years, last working in December, 1999.
Paul was a member of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church. Earlier in his life he was a 4-H leader. He enjoyed doing plumbing and carpentry work and especially the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Craig W. Johnson on March 17, 2009; by three sisters: Wilma Ridall, Nola Baker, Lyla; and three brothers: Sterling Johnson, Warren Johnson and Larue Johnson.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, the former E. JoAnn Karns, with whom he celebrated his 55th wedding annaiversary on October 24, 2013; three children: Daniel W. Johnson, and his wife Cathy; Patti S., wife of Marvin E. Kline, all of Bloomsburg; Kevin P. Johnson, and his wife Irene, Berwick; six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a. m. from the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Jennifer Parks-Snyder officiating. Interment in Lightstreet "Highland" Cemetery.
