Peter Paul Begosh

Peter Paul Begosh, age 73, 54 Bardo Road, Millville, died at 5:38 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for one week. He was in failing health for the past two years.

Born in Swoyersville, Luzerne County, on October 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Adamchik) Begosh. His father died shortly after his birth and his mother later married Albert Ramiza  of Pittston who  became a father to Peter and his two older brothers.

Peter was a graduate 0f  West Side Central Catholic High School, Kingston, in 1959 and of Wilkes College in 1963 with a degree in chemistry. Following college, he moved to Philadelphia where he was hired by Smith, Kline and French Laboratories (now GlaxoSmithKline). He spent his entire working career with them, retiring in 2002 after 38 years. He began as a lab chemist and rose to the position of Director of Quality Control, traveling all over the world. He both loved and hated the travel. The hiccups encountered while traveling, were stories he told with great humor. Eating ant eggs in Mexico and buying antiques in China were some of the adventures he had because of his job.

He and his family lived in Philadelphia until he retired in 2002 when he moved to Millville to a home they owned for several years. In retirement he spent his time working in the garden and around the house on his much loved Kubota Tractor.

Peter always was interested in cooking and carpentry. He spent his free time either refinishing their home in the Fitler Square section of Philadelphia or making mouth watering spaetzel or Szechuan tacos.

Throughout his life, his dogs were dearly loved companions. Mizzy, McGee, Clyde, Zeke, Malaki and Monty were central to his happiness. Peter loved telling stories of times in the woods with Albert and his childhood dog, Mizzy.

Peter's sense of humor was central to his character. From an early age, pranks were a common occurrence with his friends and family. He enjoyed watching Seinfeld, Monty Python and the Pink Panther.

On October 14, 1967, Peter married the former Marbeth Evans of Plymouth, and they recently celebrated their 47th anniversary. Also surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth and her son, Ogden of Philadelphia; two brothers', Andrew Begosh and his wife Hilda, Webster, N.H. and Edward Begosh, wife Grace, Hopewell Junction,  N. Y. and their families and Godchildren, Paul Begosh (his nephew), Jonstephen Maud and David Long.
