RAYMOND  SHULTZ

Raymond Shultz, age 89,  11 Firehall Road, Bloomsburg (Buckhorn) died at 11:15 p. m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where he was a guest since January, 2010.

Born in Fernville on January 17, 1922, he was a son of the late Roland and Emma (Krum) Shultz. He resided in Buckhorn most of his life, except from 1941 to 1948 when he resided in Jerseytown.

Raymond was a self employed farmer, retiring in 1999. Much of his farm was used for development in the Buckhorn area, especially the truckstop

He was a longtime member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee for many years and also of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.

Raymond was a charter member and first fire chief of the Buckhorn  Community Fire Co.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, the former Isabel I. “Isy” Derr, on June 2, 2011.

Raymond is survived by his brother, Wilbur R. Shultz and a nephew, Richard P. Shultz, both of Buckhorn.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 92 Schoolhouse Road, Bloomsburg (Buckhorn), with his pastor, Audrey M. Brosious officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.

Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 10-11 a.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
