Revelessa E. "Rhea" Beagle, age 97, formerly of Park Street, Bloomsburg, died at 4:15 p. m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Balanced Care At Bloomsburg in Scott Township where she was a patient for two months. She previously resided at Loyalton At Bloomsburg for three years.

Born in Lime Ridge on June 30, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Pearl (Rupert) Lore. She was a 1930 graduate of the former Mifflinville High School and resided in Bloomsburg since 1935.

Rhea was a faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg for 58 years and previously was a member of the Lime Ridge Methodist Church. At Wesley she was a member of the Pal's Class and the United Methodist Women and she also taught Sunday School at both churches.

She was an active volunteer for many years as a member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary; the friends of the Bloomsburg Public Library and the Women's Civic Club. Rhea served as vice-president of the Republican Women's Club of Columbia County at one time.

Rhea was preceded in death by her husband, Hurley M. Beagle on December 19, 1979 and also by two brothers: Robert Lore and William Lore; and a sister, Prudence Rupert.

Surviving are a son, Robert M. Beagle, and his wife Gerri, Wakefield, R.I.; two grandsons: Jonathan Beagle, and his wife Deborah, East Longmeadow, Mass and Christopher Beagle, Santa Cruz, Calif.; a great-grandson, William McClellan Beagle; one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Jay E. Jones and Lisa A. Mitchell lay minister of visitation officiating. Interment will be in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-2 p. m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Music Fund of Wesley United Methodist Church, 130 W. Third St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
