Richard E. âRichâ Cromley
Richard E. âRichâ Cromley, age 82, 117 Colonial Avenue, Bloomsburg (Sunken Heights), died at 11:35 a. m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where he was admitted Friday. His death followed a brief illness.
Born in Bloomsburg on July 19, 1930, he was a son of the late Theron R. and Helen A. (Spaide) Cromley. He was a 1948 honors graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Early in his life he was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co., for 20 years and he was last employed by the former First National Bank, Millville for 20 years and was the branch manager at the time he retired in 1995.
Rich served with the US Army during the Korean War.
Rich was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg for over 50 years; a 50 year member of Washington Lodge #265 and Caldwell Consistory; and Valley of Bloomsburg Post 273, American Legion. At one time he served as an advisor to the Demolay Chapter and served on the board of the Columbia County Unit of the American Red Cross. He also was a member of the National Association of Accountants and served as regional president.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Cromley.
Surviving is his wife, the former Beverly Eveland, with whom he celebrated a 58th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2012. He was the last of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Gary D. Weaver officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call on Wednesday from 1-2 p. m.
