Richard J. Cuti, age 77, Bloomsburg and formerly of Ridgewood, New York died at 5:55 a. m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where he resided for almost seven years.
Born in New York City on August 9, 1938, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Jacknik) Cuti. He resided in Ridgewood, New York for many years, prior to moving to Bloomsburg.
Richard was employed as an electrician working through the Electrical Workers Union in New York City for many years. Following retirement, he worked as a handicapped bus driver in New York.
He was a member of a Catholic Church in Ridgewood. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and playing golf.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, in 2003 and by a grandson, Frank Mirabile.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura, wife of Joseph DeVito; three grandsons: Michael Mirabile, Joseph DeVito, Jr. and Nicholas DeVito, all of Bloomsburg; a brother, Joseph Cuti, and his wife Noelle and a sister, Lorraine, wife of Brian Rosati, all of Leesburg, Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a. m. in St. Columbia Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, by Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will be in New York City.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Christian Wake Services will be held on Tuesday at 7:45 p. m.
