RICHARD  E.  KILE

Richard E. Kile, age 65, formerly of East Third Street, Berwick, died at 5:15 A. M. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at the Bonham Nursing Center, Stillwater, where he was a patient since May, 2009.

Born in Berwick on Sept. 20, 1946, he was a son of the late Kenneth  E. and Lena A. (Kile) Kile. He resided in the Berwick area much of his lifetime and was a 1965 graduate of the Berwick Area High School.

Richard was last employed as a van driver by Dunkin Donuts, Berwick and previously at the former Brown Chevrolet,  Kishbaugh Toyota and Ertley Chevrolet.

He was a member of the Five Mountains Hunting Club, Stillwater.

Richard served in the US Army following High School and was stationed in Korea.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Gary Kile and Roger Kile.

Surviving are a son, Richard E. Kile, Jr., and his wife Jenean, Ashtabula, Ohio; a daughter, Candance Lynn, wife of John Long, Salem, Va.; a step-son, Justin Hontz, New York; a step-daughter, Joanna Hontz, Berwick; 10 grandchildren; five siblings: Janet M. Zagata, Shickshinny; Gordon L. Kile, and his wife Lori, Bloomsburg; Terry A. Kile, and his wife Lorena, Stillwater; Herman L. Kile, and his wife Pamela, Orleans, Ind.; Rebecca, wife of Mark Altman, Irmo, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Debbie Kile, Berwick; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 6 p. m. in the Defender Hose Company Hall, E. Sixth & Pine Streets, Berwick, with Rev. John D. Kolenda, pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Bloomsburg, officiating.

The family would prefer that donations be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 63 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18703.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
