ROBERT C. BRILLHART
Robert C. Brillhart, age 66, 300 PP & L Road, Danville, died at 1:44 p. m. Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, several hours after he was admitted. He was in failing health since December, 2008.
Born in York on Nov. 3, 1943, he was a son of the late Winfield W. and Eleanor L. (Nispel) Brillhart.
Bob lived at his present address for two years and in the Benton and Stillwater areas from 1974 to 2007.
Early in his life he was employed as a logger. After coming to Columbia County in 1974, he owned and operated several restauarnts and bars, including the Elk Grove Inn and Jamison City Hotel, in Benton; the Swiss Chalet at LaPorte and was co-owner of the R & R Tin Cup Restaurant at Turbotville, retiring two years ago.
Bob was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Brillhart in Feb., 2005.
Surviving are his wife of 16 years, the former Ruth Campbell Grunden, and two step sons: Richard L. Grunden, and his wife Fay Ann, Watsontown and John Altsman, and his wife Sylvia, Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Gerald W. Brillhart, and his wife Betty, York and Carl W. Brillhart, and his wife Ann, Etters.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton. Interment on Wednesday at 11 a. m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-7 p. m. at the funeral home.
