Robert J. âBobâ Cherwinski, age 85, Park Street, Bloomsburg, died at his home on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 shortly after shoveling snow from his walks, and was pronounced dead at 10:30 a.m.
Born on September 16, 1928 in Mt. Carmel, he was the son of Adam and Genevieve (Danilowicz) Cherwinski. He resided in Bloomsburg since 1960.
Bob was last employed at the former Textron, Inc. plant in Danville, and prior to that, the former T.R.W. plant for a total of 27 years, retiring in 1989.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith, and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He and his wife, the former Jean Crawford, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on December 20, 2013. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Richard J. Cherwinski, and his wife Tatiana, Belmont, Ca.; a granddaughter, Sabrina; and a brother, Richard Cherwinski and his wife, Joan, Catawissa.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. There will be no viewing.
