Robert J. Cotterman, Jr., age 63, 99 Strawberry Lane, Stillwater, died at 11:05 p. m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where was a patient for nine days.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 22, 1951, he was the son of Marjorie M. (Souder) Cotterman, Shickshinny and the late Robert E. Cotterman, Sr. He lived in the New Columbus -Huntington Mills area most of his life and was a 1969 graduate of Northwest Area High School.
Robert served with the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days.
He was last employed by T. L. Miller Trucking Co., Bloomsburg; earlier he was employed by the former Mascaro Disposal Co., Bloomsburg; Ken Pollock Trucking, Hunlock Creek and by the Red Rock Job Corps Center, Benton.
Surviving in addition to his mother are three sons: Robert E. Cotterman, Huntington; James P. Cotterman, and his fiancee, Candice Blaine, Bloomsburg; Michael R. Cotterman, Briar Creek; four step-children: Dennis Malakoskie, Florida; Kristieann Wild, Williamsport; David Bendas, and his wife Tiare, Sunbury; Tamara Bendas, Florida and 21 grandchildren.
He is also survived by seven siblings: Diann Savage, Hunlock Creek; Daniel C. Cotterman, and his wife Lisa, Stillwater; Annette Cotterman, Shickshinny; Kathy Fink, Huntington Mills; Suzanne, wife of Calvin Keefer, Berwick; Bernadette Cotterman, Shickshinny; Melissa, wife of Robert Metzger, Washingtonville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
At Robertâs request, there will be no funeral services or viewing. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the New Columbus Cemetery.
