Robert E. âBobâ Miller, Jr.
Robert E. âBobâ Miller, Jr., age 75, 510 Main St. (P. O. Box 93), Orangeville, died at his home at 1:45 p. m. Thursday, December 3, 2015., after being seriously ill since October.
Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on September 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Robert L., Sr. and Olive (Lindenmuth) Miller. His early life was spent in the Numidia area and he was a 1958 graduate of the former Roaring Creek Valley High School, Numidia. He resided in Orangeville for 56 years.
Bob was employed by the Kawneer, Corp., Bloomsburg, for 35 years and was an accountant at the time he retired in 2003.
He was a 50 year member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church, where he served as the Sunday school superintendent, trustee, member of the administrative board, church choir, hand bell choir and always busy with church projects.
Bob was an active resident of Orangeville, serving on the borough council for 45 years. He also was a very active member of the Orangeville Fire Co., for 45 years and serving as treasurer and carnival chairman for many years.
He was a member of the Soap Stone Hunting Club for 28 years and the Orangeville Sportsmanâs Club. An avid golfer, he especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and his new great-granddaughter, Paisley.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Audrey Colestock.
Surviving are his wife, the former Gloria J. Megargell, with whom he observed his 56th wedding anniversary on November 28th; a son, Timothy L. Miller; a daughter, Trudy J., wife of Richard C. Faux; three grandsons: Brandon R. Faux, and his wife Misse; Matthew R. Faux; Benjamin Miller; and a great-granddaughter, Paisley Mae Faux, all of Orangeville. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Robert Colestock, Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Orangeville United Methodist Church, Pine Street, Orangeville, with his pastor, Rev. Charles V. Claybourn and his former pastor, Rev. Darwin C. Goshorn officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville.
Viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg and also on Tuesday from 10-11 a. m. at the church.
