Robert C. Rose, age 78, of Scenic Drive, Danville (Riverside), died at the Geisinger Medical Center on Monday March 31, 2025.

Born in Barton, New York on October 11, 1946, he was a son of the late Russell and Lucy (Chapman) Rose. He resided in Danville since 1999. Robert was a graduate of Sayre Area High School. He received an Associate’s Degree from Corning Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Mansfield State College.

He was a railroader for many years, last working for CSX railroad as a signalman, retiring in 2012.

Robert was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Danville. He was a fan of the Buffalo Sabres Hockey Team and enjoyed playing golf. His most important activity was the time he spent with his grandson.

He served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell M. Rose, Jr. and Roy Rose.

Robert is survived by his wife, Debra (Keith) Rose, with whom he celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2024; a son, Robert C. Rose, Jr., and his partner, Kerry Zawistowski, of Riverside; grandson, Russell A. Rose, of Riverside; two brothers, Roger Rose, and his wife Carole, of Lewes, Delaware and Ryan Rose, and his wife Julie, of Waverly, New York; and many nieces and nephews who loved him.

The family would like to thank the staff of Abigail Pavilion 4 for their professional and compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 68 Center St., Danville, by Rev. Timothy Marcoe. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Milton.

Immediately following the Mass there will be a lunch reception at The Meadows Community Center at Maria Joseph, 77 Tower View Circle, Danville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Rd., Danville.
