ROBERT M. THOMAS
Robert M. Thomas, age 65, 1018 Clifton Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 5:15 p. m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for one day. He was in failing health for the past three months.
Born in Bloomsburg on December 28, 1947, he was the son of Dorothy (Longenberger) Thomas, Lightstreet, and the late Mark E. Thomas. His early life was spent in Lightstreet and he resided in Bloomsburg for the past ten years and previously lived in Lewisburg for 20 years.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Central Columbia High School and a graduate of Luzerne County Community College where he majored in respiratory therapy.
He was employed as a respiratory therapist at a number of area hospitals, including Bloomsburg Hospital, Shamokin Hospital, Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg and Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for 20 years and last by Select Medical, Corp.
Bob was of the Christian faith and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the time he spent with his dog, Nestle.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife, the former Deborah M. Horn, with whom he celebrated his 34th wedding anniversary on September 9, 2012; four children: Christopher Thomas, and his wife Jane, Colorado; Brian Thomas, and his wife Rhonda, Wilkes-Barre; Kelly R., wife of Barry Baker, Pittsburgh; Bradley J. Thomas, at home; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to a charity of their choice in Bob,s name.
