Roger L. Rainier

Roger L. Rainier, age 65, 400 Railroad St., Bloomsburg, died at 6:52 a. m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.

Born in Bloomsburg on May 8, 1951, he was the son of Donald Rainier, Deltona, Fla. and Arlene (Robbins) Rainier, Orange City, Fla.

Roger lived in the Bloomsburg area his entire life and had been employed as a welder

He was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Rainier and a sister Ginger Rainier.

Surviving in addition to his parents is his companion of 30 years,  Claudia Ashley, with whom he resided; a son, Jonathan Braun; two brothers: Donald Rainier, Deltona, Fla.  and Terry Rainier, and his wife Kathy, Brookville, Fla.; two sisters: Linda, wife of Robert Purtell, Deltona, Fla. and Rowena, wife of David Sellers,  Andress, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. The Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy will officiate. Interment will be made in Canby Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township. Viewing on Thursday from 1-2 p. m.
