Ronald L. “Ron” Whitenight, age 84, of Pepper Mill Rd., Bloomsburg, died early Tuesday January 28, 2025 at his home.
Born on February 26, 1940 in Scott Township, he was a son of the late Leroy and Edna (Betz) Whitenight. A 1958 graduate of Bloomsburg High School, he resided in Hemlock Township for the past 66 years.
Ron was employed by the American Car and Foundry Company in Milton as a quality assurance inspector, retiring in 2000, after 26 years of service.
He was a member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church and a life member of the Buckhorn Community Fire Company.
Ron was an avid hunter and raised and trained Beagles as a hobby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Season Chantel Whitenight-Gehman, on July 25, 2024; a sister, Sue Bellum; and a brother, Donald Whitenight.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ann White, with whom he observed their 65th wedding anniversary on June 21, 2024; daughter, Tammy, wife of Kenneth Wenner, Jr., of Buckhorn; son, Todd Whitenight, and his wife Brenda, of Bloomsburg; grandson, Kenneth Wenner III, and his wife Nicole, of Buckhorn; four great-grandchildren: Rielynn and Parker Wenner and June and Josie Gehman; and grandson-in-law, Curtis Gehman, of Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 31, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Interment will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
