Rose Linda Bogart, age 62, 2330 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy), died at 12:55 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville, after a brave courageous battle against breast cancer. She had been in ill health over 21 years.
Born in Bloomsburg on September 3, 1953, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy H. and Irene K. (Shaffer) Pursel. She spent her entire life in the Espy/Bloomsburg area and attended the Central Columbia Schools before graduating from the Columbia Montour Vocational Technical School in 1971.
Rose Linda was employed by the Verizon Telephone Co. for 43 years, last working on December 21, 2014.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy.
Her love of dogs led to her involvement with the Animal Resource Center and PA Pets. Her personal dogs were Cody and Daisy. She enjoyed traveling, scrap booking and doing cross stitch.
Rose Linda is survived by her husband, Walter E. Bogart, Jr., with whom she celebrated 42 years of marriage on November 10, 2015; two daughters: Tara, wife of John Semos, Easton and Ashlie Bogart, and her fiance Carlos Perdomo, Clarks Summit; four granddaughters: Mia, Ava, Octavia and Olivia; two sisters: Mollie Pursel and Sandra, wife of Leland Grasley, all of Espy; and a brother, Robert Pursel, Tremont.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, 2575 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy), with her pastor, Rev. Gordon E. Smith officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The family will greet friends at the church from noon to 1 p.m.
