ROSE N. BROOKING
Rose N. Brooking, age 63, 32 Country Terrace Lane, Bloomsburg, died at 8:50 a. m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the home of her sister, Hester Edwards in Main Township. She was in failing health for the past 1 1/2 years.
Born in Bloomsburg on January 30, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Paul H. and Lillie S. (Tressler) Brooking.
Rose spent her entire life in the Bloomsburg area and was employed by various local families as a domestic worker.
She enjoyed hunting and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. Her hobbies included doing crafts, including knitting and plastic canvas needle point.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Sam P. Brooking on September 9, 1985; by two brothers-in-law: Charles E. Edwards on April 19, 2011 and Henry G. Bellum, Sr., on August 12, 2011; and by a nephew, Henry G. Bellum, Jr., on June 19, 2009.
Surviving are three sisters: Hester A. Edwards; Sally J., wife of Ralph W. DeFrain, Jr.; and Mary M. Bellum, all of Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
