Rose Ann Karlov-Dick

Rose Ann Karlovich-Dick, 75 of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully while resting at home on Januasry 10, 2017.

Born on October 16, 1941 at Geisinger Hospital in Danville, Rose Ann was the daughter of the late Stanley Joseph Karlovich and Stella Steffanick. She grew up and resided in Atlas and attended Mt. Carmel High School where she was a cheerleader, voted by her class as "Most Witty" and was titled "State Laurel Queen" at the annual Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival in 1959. In 1974, she relocated and settled in Bloomsburg where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and the Dean's list at Bloomsburg State College in 1983. She later continued her education at Bloomsburg and soon after, received her Master's Degree in Fine Arts.

Rose Ann worked at several nursing homes in the area, but spent the last 12 years at Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care where she worked until the day of her passing.

She was a kind and caring soul who frequently contributed to the ASPCA and cherished and babied her pet dogs. She had an insatiable desire to continue learning and was often found reading a wide variety of books and articles ranging from music and the arts, to history and religion, tot he universe and the latest news. Conversations could span topics from the Grateful Dead to Isaac Asimov.

Rose Ann's love for her three children was paramount. She is survived by her daughter, Diane L. Dick, PH.D., Cleveland, OH. and her sons, Gerard J. Dick (wife YunKyong) Sumter, S.C. and Kenneth J. Dick, Honesdale and three grandchildren, Jeremy Dick, Kokomo, IN, Shania and Carson Dick, Sumter, S.C.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17th at 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 325 Market nSt., Bloomsburg. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence officiating.

The family will provide flowers.
