Roy H. Kilpatrick, age 100, 201 Sunnyside Avenue, Bloomsburg (Fernville) died 4 p. m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Grandview Health & Rehabilitation, Danville, where he was a patient since February 14, 2018.

Born in Nazareth on February 24, 1918, he was the son of the late Peter and Elsie (Bartholomew) Kilpatrick. He resided in Bloomsburg for 64 years.

Roy was last employed by Coldwell- Wandell Real Estate in  Bloomsburg as a salesman. Earlier he was employed at  the former U. S. Radium Corp. plant in Almedia for many years.

He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Valley of Bloomsburg, American Legion Post 273 for over 60 years. He collected stamps and coins as well as baseball cards.

Roy proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the U. S. Army. He served in  the Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe campaigns. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, European Middle Eastern Medal with 4 bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was preceded in death by his wife,  the former  Marion Zellner, on October 19, 2002.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Linda Wintersteen of Riverside;  two granddaughters: Donna, wife of Charles Schronick, Port Byron, Ill. and Julie Wintersteen, Meadville; a great-grandson, Christopher Schronick, and his wife Alicia, Cordova, Ill., a great-granddaughter, Ariel Schronick, Davenport, Iowa; and two sisters:  Anna Gogle,  Santa Ana, Calif. and Erma Kromer, Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Eileen M. Chapman, United Methodist pastor officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge with military honors by the combined veterans group. Viewing on Friday from 6-8 p. m.
