RUTH N. GRUNDEN BRILLHART
Ruth N. Grunden Brillhart, age 83, 57 Loop Road, Watsontown, died at her home at 4:20 p. m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 after an illness of one month.
Born in Beaver Falls, she was the only child of the late Harry L. and Matlda C. (Bird) Campbell. She resided in Watsontown since July and formerly lived in rural Danville for three and a half years and in the Benton-Stillwater area for 30 years.
Ruth weas co-owner of a number of businesses, including the former Elk Grove Inn, Jamison City Hotal and an ice cream shop all in Northern Columbia County. She also had owned the Swiss Chalet, LaPorte.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: William H. Grunden on March 12, 1973 and Robert C. Brillhart on July 24, 2009; as well as by a son, Robert Altsman.
Surviving are two sons: John Altsman, and his wife Sylvia, Bakersfield, Calif. and Richard L. "Rick" Grunden, and his wife FayAnn, with whom she last resided; three daughters: Karen Grunden, Benton, Charlotte Navich, Berwick, Lorraine, wife of Angelo Spezialetti, Berwick; ten grandchildren and a number of great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton, with the Rev. Howard W. Leh, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Central officiating. Interment in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Sugarloaf Township.
