Ruth E. (Fritz) Evans
Ruth E. (Fritz) Evans, age 92, Erie and formerly of Benton died on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Abington Crest Nursing Home, Erie after a long illness.
She was born on April 15, 1922, the only child of the late Bruce I. and Mary E. (White) Fritz, at her parents home in Benton. She was a 1940 graduate of Benton High School.
Ruth resided in Erie for the past 17 years and previously lived in Charleston, South Carolina for several years and most of her prior life was spent in Benton.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Glenn F. Harrison on January 1, 1955 and E. Donald Evans, Sr., on January 15, 2001.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Sandra, wife of Douglas Peterman, Erie; a son, E. Donald Evans, Jr., and his wife Debra, Goose Creek, South Carolina; two step-daughters: Darlene, wife of Charles Hill and Doris E., wife of Clair C. Hock, both of Bloomsburg; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made in the Benton Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton.
