Ruth (Wert) Fox

June 26, 1959 — December 6, 2021

Ruth (Wert) Fox

Ruth (Wert) Fox, 62 of Bloomsburg slept peacefully until passing the morning of December 6, 2021 after a brief stay at The Gardens in Orangeville. Her passing from a long, arduous fight with lung cancer left all who knew Ruth in awe of her determination to keep on living.

Formerly of Berwick, PA born on June 26, 1959 the daughter of Luther Wert and Martha (Lutz) Wert. Most beloved were her grandparents Nathan (Pop Pop) and Ruth Lutz (Mom Mom), who shared a special relationship with her until their passing.

Ruth’s accomplishments didn’t come from a formal education or a decades long career. Her accomplishments came from her children and how hard she loved them. Her legacy of overcoming adversity and struggles, from childhood to adulthood, will live on through her family and friendships. She faltered like all of us do, but she picked herself up and came back stronger, each and every time. Most who met her, grew to love her for her humor, wildness and outspoken ways. A true pioneer of a strong woman before her time. She never let a man, a job, a boss or any obstacles stand in her way. She would not want it to be said that she lost her battle with cancer, because she certainly did not. She courageously gave the middle finger to cancer since 2011 and told each and every doctor she met, that she wasn’t done living yet. Ruth loved reading, bird watching, her faithful canine companions throughout the years and causing a ruckus.

She is survived by her children, Amy (Torres) Starr and husband Tony of Catawissa, Michael Kissinger of Orangeville and Aaron Kissinger and wife Jessica of Berwick. Known as Oma to her beloved grandchildren Elijah, Amelia, Mason and step-grandchildren; Chelsea Owens and husband James, Tristan Starr and wife Shayla, and step-greatgrandchildren Atley, Aeadan and Kendal. She is also survived by siblings Harry Wert and wife Agnes, Leonard Wert and her most favorite sister Kathy Wert. We cannot forget to include the many nieces and nephews who fondly called her Aunt Ruthie.

She would like all of you to listen to the music loud, keep on dancing and don’t take any s***.

Friends may gather on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Dean W. Kriner Inc Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
