Ruth L. Haladay, age 88, 25 Steltz Road, Danville, died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday January 10, 2012 at the Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where she had been a guest since August 19, 2010.
Born in Madison Twp., Columbia Co., on June 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Eves) Taylor. She resided in Cooper Twp., Montour Co., for over 50 years. She was a 1941graduate of Millville High School.
Ruth was employed by the former Bloomsburg Mills Inc. Bloomsburg for 43 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg for more than 50 years.
Ruth enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and time spent with her neighbors and family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Roth, and by a brother Larue Taylor.
Surviving are her husband, Leo E. Haladay, with whom she celebrated her 19th wedding anniversary on Sept. 11, 2011, a sister, Lois, wife of Edwin Jenkins, Danville, and a brother, Raymond Taylor, and his wife Carol, Orefield.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
