RUTH M. KLINEDINST
Ruth M. Klinedinst, age 86, 13 East Third Street, Bloomsburg, PA, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, left this world to be in God's hands at 5 p. m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Klinedinst, on January 18, 2008 after 59 years of marriage.
Born on September 1, 1922 in Red Lion, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S. and Elizabeth M. (Flinchbaugh) Grove. She resided in Bloomsburg since 1960 and previously lived in Pleasant Gap.
Ruth was a 1940 graduate of Red Lion High School and attended the Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia and Thompson Business School, Red Lion.
Early in her life she was employed by the J. C. Winter Company in Red Lion as an office administrator. While living in Pleasant Gap she served as the organist for her church, St. Mark Lutheran and in Bloomsburg she was employed in the cafeteria of the Memorial Elementary School for several years.
Ruth's life was not defined by her education or paid vocation, but rather by her roles as mother, sister, aunt, friend and volunteer. Her deep loves were her faith, her family and her friends.
From the time of her childhood, Ruth's faith shaped her life. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Red Lion, St. Mark Lutheran Church, Pleasant Gap and St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. She shared her gifts as a Sunday School teacher, an organist, children's choir accompanist and as a member of the Lutheran Church Women. Ruth and her family and friends have many fond memories of her involvement in church ministries, in sharing her love of music and helping others in her church and community. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and gardening.
Ruth volunteered her time for many causes, including meals on wheels, Danville State Hospital, Bloomsburg State College Faculty Wives, and served on the board of directors of the Mental Health Association of Central Susquehanna Valley, Bloomsburg.
