Ruth Mosier

Ruth (Bogart) Mosier, age 100, formerly of Bloomsburg, died at 11:34 p. m. Monday evening at the Southern Life Style Senior Living Center, Lake Placid, Florida.

Born in Scott Township on February 21, 1918, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Lillian (Ball) Bogart.

Ruth was a 1935 graduate of Berwick High School. She lived in Pine Township, rural Millville for 43 years, moving to Bloomsburg in 1982 and to Florida in August, 2013.

She was employed as a secretary by the former Penn Set, Bloomsburg for 19 years and last at St. Matthew Lutheran Church for three years, retiring in 1986.

Ruth was a member of the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Bloomsburg. She was a member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Mortimer Mosier on September 19, 1974; by a son, Gerald S. Mosier on April 4, 2014 and by a brother, Ray L. Bogart on March 17, 1997.

Surviving are three daughters: Joanne C. Mosier, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Carol M. Taylor, Lake Placid, Florida and Janet Lynne Stugard, Kempton; a son, Jack A. Mosier, and his wife Kim, Milton; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Steven C., Hummel officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge where she will be buried next to her husband. Friends may call on Saturday from 10-11 a. m.
