Ruth A. Welliver, age 87, 3335 Ridge Road, Bloomsburg, died at 8:45 p. m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Emmanuel Center For Nursing, Danville, where she was guest since October, 2012.
Born on January 23, 1927 in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Brenner) McBride.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area and a 1945 graduate of Bloomsburg High School
She was last employed by the former Columbia Health & Accident Insurance Co., Bloomsburg and previously worked at the former W. T. Grant Store in Scott Township.
Ruth was a longtime member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Tammi Marie Myers and Michael Stuart Welliver; and by a brother, Robert Brown.
Surviving is her husband, Franklin D. Welliver, with whom she celebrated 67 years of marriage on July 19, 2014; a daughter: Connie E., wife of Thomas Myers, Bloomsburg; two sons: Dale F. Welliver, and his wife Laura, Bloomsburg and Gerald A. Welliver, and his wife Sandra L., Piscataway, N.J.; five grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Lukeâs Way, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg or at the Church on Tuesday from 10-11 a. m.
