Ruth N. Woolcock

Ruth N. (Ginter) Woolcock, age 98 formerly of Millville, died at 6:25 a. m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018 at the Sunset Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, in Scott Township where she resided since Jan. 9, 2015.

Born on December 3, 1919 in Halifax Township,  Dauphin County, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Esther L. (Hoffman) Ginter. She resided in the Millville area for much of her life and was a graduate of Penn State University in State College.

Ruth taught home economics in Sullivan County early in her life and later did substitute teaching, mainly in Millville. She was an active member of the Millville Christian Church.

Her hobbies included bird watching, baking, canning, gardening and hand quilting. She was a consummate homemaker, both by profession and inclination. Her sewing and quilting endeavors are cherished as heirlooms by her family and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband,  Gerald McHenry Woolcock, on December 8, 1987 and by a brother, John Ginter, who was killed in action during World War II.

She is survived by a daughter, Deanna W., wife of James K. Robinson, Allentown; and four sons: Gary J. Woolcock, and his wife Gloria, Orangeville; H. Eugene Woolcock, and his wife Gerry, New Brittain; Van D. Woolcock, and his wife Caralee, Bluffdale, Utah; Robert L. Woolcock, and his wife Wendy, Millville; 14 grandchildren; and  16 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will be held in the Millville Christian Church, 245 E. Main Street, Millville, on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at 11:30 a. m. with Pastor Richard Plocinski  officiating. Interment will be made in the Millville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
