Sally J. Brent

Sally J. (Wertman) Brent, age 71, 711 Alton Street, Danville, died at her home at 11 p. m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 after being seriously ill since November.

Born in Danville on July 8, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Alfred  and Mary (Fitzgerald) Wertman. A lifelong resident of Danville, she graduated from Danville High School in 1965.

Sally was employed as a nursing assistant in the Radiation Medicine Department of Geisinger Medical Center for 35 years, retiring in 2013.

She loved watching all sporting events, spending time at their cabin, caring for her flower gardens,  and visiting Ocean City, Maryland. She also enjoyed bowling and was a national bowling champion while in high school.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Wray and a brother, John Wertman.

Sally is survived by her husband, Gary E. Brent, Sr., with whom she observed her 51st wedding anniversary on August 1, 2017; two sons: Gary E. Brent, Jr., and his wife Jennifer, Danville and John A. Brent, and his wife Colleen, Bear Gap; four grandchildren: Zachary, Ashley, Katelyn and Paige Brent; two sister in laws: Brenda, wife of Keith Gibson, M.D., and Cindy, wife of John Ammerman, all of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

At Sally's request there will be no funeral services or viewing.

Arrangements have  been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
