Samina R. Cole, age 80, a resident of the Annapolis, Maryland area since 1972, died on February 15, 2014 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
Born in Williamsport on May 14, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Miriam L. Rishton. She previously resided in Bloomsburg and Berwyn, PA. before settling in Maryland.
Ms. Cole earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the former Bloomsburg State Teacher’s College in 1957 and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore. Her career was spent working for the State of Maryland, first with the Office of the Comptroller and then the Department of Natural Resources. She served in various administrative capacities until retiring in 1995.
She was an avid reader and world traveler and was active in the communities in which she lived, serving on boards of various community associations.
Surviving are two sons: Bradley D. Cole, Annapolis, and Gary R. Cole, Raleigh, North Carolina; a daughter, Lisa A. Duffy, Marietta, Georgia; beloved grandchildren and a great grandson; and her former husband, David M. Cole.
A private memorial service and burial will be held.
