Sandra L. Thomas, 71, of 16 Hidlay Church Road, Bloomsburg, died at 8:42 p.m. Friday, April 8, at her home. She has been in declining health for the past year.
Born in Fishingcreek Township on May 30, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Dean A. and Susan E. (Fritz) Westover.
Sandra resided at her present home since 1976 and previously lived in Espy. She was a 1957 graduate of the former Scott Township High School. She was employed by Milco Industries from 1977 until her retirement in 2004. Sandra was a member of Emmanuel Bible Chapel, Berwick, where she was very active in several church groups. She was a former member of the Espy Women's Civic Club. She loved to spend time with her family and her grandchildren and was an avid reader.
Surviving is her husband, Robert E. Thomas, whom she married on August 10, 1957; two daughters, Colleen D., wife of Barry Travelpiece, Wapwallopen, and Pam R., wife of Joe Faux, Montoursville; three grandchildren, Amanda Wilcox, Ashley Knorowski and Bradley Travelpiece; two sisters, Edna A. Kessler, Beverly A. Neufer, and one brother, David E. Westover and his wife, Sonja, all of Bloomsburg. She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor A. Westover, on July 20, 2010.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00a.m. in Emmanuel Bible Chapel, 20 Kachinka Hollow Road, Berwick, with Pastor David Ney and Pastor Scott Fetterolf, officiating. Interment will be in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
