Sarah Dorothy "Dot" Reigel

Sarah Dorothy “Dot” Reigel, age 85, formerly of West First St., Bloomsburg, died at 4:30 p. m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at The Gardens At Orangeville where she resided for the past two years.

Born in Bloomsburg on February 15, 1932, she was  the only child of the late Boyd S. and Hazel V. (Strauser) Patterson. She spent her lifetime in Bloomsburg and was a 1950 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Dot was last employed by Aramark Food Services at Bloomsburg University and previously worked in the cafeteria of the Bloomsburg High School. In her early life she was employed at the former Moyer Brothers Pharmacy, Bloomsburg.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg.

Dot delivered meals on wheels for 20 years and was a member of the Compassionate Friends Group which was dedicated to helping families cope with the loss of a child. She was an ardent fan of the former Vicksburg Quartet

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Dean Reigel, on July 1, 1981.

Surviving are her husband, Bruce F. Reigel, with whom she celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 10, 2016, who is also a guest at The Gardens At  Orangeville;  a son, Boyd P. Reigel, and his wife Karen B., Benton; three daughters: Annet L. Reigel, and her husband Bruce Hashinger, Bear, Del.; Ruth E. Reigel, Danville; Nancy J., wife of Brian E. Fry, Catawissa; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Gary W. Reichenbach, retired United Methodist minister officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 p. m or Monday after 1 p. m.
