Sarah E. Smith

Sarah E. Smith, 98, of 82 Highspire Road, Richboro, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Neshaminy Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Warrington, where she had been a guest since September 2006.

Born March 22, 1911 in Franklin Twp., she was a daughter of the late Emerson and Harriet (Clayton) Creasy. She had lived in Richboro since December 2000, and formerly on Sunbury Road and Ave. F, Riverside since 1948.

Sarah was employed in the cafeteria at the Danville High School and Riverside Elementary School during the 1960s and had previously worked for the former F.W. Woolworth Store in Danville.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside and the United Methodist Women.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin O. Smith, on July 21, 1991; by four brothers: Harold, Ross, George and John Creasy and by one sister, Mae George.

Surviving is a son, Dale E. Smith, wife Kaye, Reading; a daughter, Sally Ann, wife of Richard Osbeck, Richboro; 6 grandsons; 9 great grandchildren; a niece, Marqueen Wintersteen, Danville; a nephew, Robert George, Danville and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 12:00 noon in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville with the Rev. C. Rayvon Hilliard, Minister of Visitation at Trinity United Methodist Church, Danville, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Franklin Twp. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
