Scott A. Shaffer, age 52, 110 Hillside Road, Danville, died at 4:09 p. m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for one month.
Born in Bloomsburg on October 11, 1965, a son of George W. Shaffer, Jr., of Summerville, South Carolina and Mary Ruth (Carey) Knorr, a guest at Sunset Ridge Heath & Rehabilitation in Bloomsburg.
Scott was a 1983 graduate of Danville High School and a resident of South Carolina for 18 years, returning to Danville three years ago. He was last employed as a welder at Force Protection Co., Ladson, South Carolina.
Scott loved spending time with his family, hunting and car racing of all types.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert W. and Mary F. Carey; his paternal grandparents, George W. and Dorothy J. Shaffer and his step-mother, Kathleen D. Shaffer.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a son, Christopher M. Shaffer, and his wife Alexis, Danville; a granddaughter, Brandi Shaffer, Danville; a grandson, Ryan Shaffer, Mt. Carmel; a brother, Mark W. Shaffer, and his wife Charmayne, Ladson, South Carolina; and several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a. m. In New Rosemont Cemetery, Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy) with the Rev. Luther J. Martell, pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
