Sharon L. (George) Barnes

Sharon L. (George) Barnes, age 69, of Bisset’s Lane, Bloomsburg, died Wednesday evening, December 18, 2024 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born at Geisinger Hospital on October 6, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Russell A. and Rena M. (Paden) George. She was a 1975 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and lived in the Bloomsburg area her entire life.

Sharon was employed at the former Briar Knitting Mill in Berwick early in her life and later was employed by the Central Columbia School District as a custodian for 16 years.

She and her husband, Andrew M. Barnes, celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on October 12, 2024. Also surviving is a son, Andrew J. “AJ” Barnes, and his fiancé, Amy Payne, of Mifflinville; granddaughter, Taylor Barnes, of Benton; grandson, Gavin Barnes, and his fiancé Kaitlyn Bricker, who resided with his grandparents; great-granddaughter, Anna Appleman, of Danville; great-grandson, Braxton J. Alford, of Washingtonville; and a sister, Michele Burke, of Bloomsburg.

At Sharon’s request, there will not be any funeral services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
