Shirley E. Canty

Shirley E. Canty, age 94, of East Hillcrest Dr., Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on April 11, 1927 in Muskogee, OK, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mildred (Weber) Ellis. She was a 1944 graduate of Boonsville High School in Missouri and a 1947 graduate of Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine R. Canty, on November 11, 2003.

She is survived by two children: Michael Canty, and his wife Lynn, of Bloomsburg, and Kathleen, wife of Donald Mason, of Weybridge, VT; two grandchildren: Scott Mason, and his wife Ann, of New Boston, NH, and Mackenzie Mason, and his fiancé Eleanor, of Seattle, WA; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Mason.

At Shirley’s request, there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
