Shirley A. Hacker, age 64, 104 Mountainside Drive, Berwick, died at 2:14 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was admitted Wednesday evening. Her death followed a lengthy illness.

Born in Bloomsburg on September 18, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Sadie (Baker) Riffindifil. She had resided at her present home in North Centre township for 30 years, and previously in Berwick.

She was a 1964 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Shirley was an employee of the former Lady Ester Corp., Berwick for 14 years before retiring in 2007. Previous work includes the former Emenee Shirt Factory, Catawissa and Milco Industries, Inc., Bloomsburg.

She was a member of the Hidlay Lutheran Church, North Centre township.

Surviving Shirley is her husband, Lawrence A. Hacker, with whom she celebrated her 44th wedding anniversary on April 24, 2009; two sons: Tracy L. Hacker, wife Tracie, Berwick and Tory L. Hacker, Danville; three grandchildren and a sister, Mary Matthews, Danville.

Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
