Theresa A. Serzinski

Theresa A. SerzinskI, age 64, of 140 Winter Street. Duboistown, died at 4:18 p. m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the Gate House at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport.

She was born in Bloomsburg on Nov. 2, 1954, the only child of the late Thomas J. and Betty J. (Martz) SerzinskI. She grew up in Bloomsburg (Buckhorn)  and was a 1972 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. She resided in Williamsport since 1984.

Theresa was employed by the former Bell Telephone Co. shortly after graduating from high school. When AT & T took over Bell she moved to Williamsport to continue her career. She always called her fellow AT & T workers as her second family.

After retiring from AT & T, she worked as a caregiver for PRN Home Health until the onset of her illness.

Although Theresa was an only child, she grew up surrounded by numerous aunts and uncles and more than 40 cousins who would gather at “Nana Martz’s” house in Buckhorn for  holidays and most weekends.

Theresa grew up loving the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and enjoyed seeing them in concert. She also was an animal lover, especially her dear feline friends.

Theresa is survived  by seven aunts and uncles: Hazel, wife of Dean A. Robbins; Allen N. Martz, and his wife Dorothy; Kenneth C. Martz, and his wife Eldora, all of the Bloomsburg area; Eunice E., wife of Jon L. Rider, Millville; Arden F. Robbins, Bloomsburg; Mary Martz, Berwick; Shirley Martz, Danville; and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Robert Strozyk, pastor of the Mill-Green United Methodist Church, Millville, officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The family will greet friends from m10 to 11 a. m.

The family would  like to thank the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital for their constant care and being such a bright light in such a dark tunnel.
