Thomas R. Fiorey, age 77, of West Pine St., Coal Township, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born on April 30th, 1947, in Mahoning Township, a son of the late Thomas E. and Alma (Dudanowicz) Fiorey. He lived a life filled with so much adventure, his passion for fishing and football (Penn State & Steelers), his love for Guinness and Gurkha Ghost Cigars, and all the wonderful memories made with his family. He was known for his 35 year teaching career at Shamokin High School, his students “math bucks”, his strong Italian routes and love for spaghetti (even though red sauce always seemed to land on his shirt), his passion for everything Gettysburg, and his impressive skills in chess and video games.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, the former Sherlyn Parkyn, whom he married on October 14, 1967; his children, son Marc Fiorey and his wife Daphne and daughter, Marcy, wife of Gary Zyskoski; grandchildren, Ashley Fiorey, Alexandria Kleman and Abbi Fiorey; and three cherished great grandchildren, Blake Davies, Gracelynn Kleman and Edwin Kleman.

Tom will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, his funny saying shirts, his closet full of flannels, his love for icing, ice cream and pizza, his “bartending” skills during holidays and summertime pool days, his thoughtfulness in everything he did (you would never go thirsty when you were around him), his hugs (they were ALWAYS the best), his wisdom and guidance and the tremendous love he had for his family.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shamokin, in his memory.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
