Thomas E. Klinger, age 62, of 405 W. First St., Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly early Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at his home
Born in Bloomsburg on Sept. 8, 1957 he was the son of Betty (Hawk) Klinger, of Bloomsburg and the late Donald Klinger. A lifelong resident of Bloomsburg, he was a 1975 graduate of the Columbia Montour Vocational Technical School.
Tom was employed by Independence Ford and its predecessors for 45 years and was currently working in the parts department.
He was an active fireman earlier in his life and currently was a life member of the Bloomsburg Fire Department and the Fireman’s Relief Association. He also was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 273, Bloomsburg. His favorite activities were hunting and working on cars and he was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed being with family and friends and having a good time.
Surviving in addition to his mother who resides in Rupert are a daughter, Bridget A. Kingston and a son Eric T. Klinger, both of Bloomsburg; a granddaughter Jayda Klinger; two sisters: Sherri, wife of Brian Valencik, Millville and Tina, wife of Tom Levan, Stewartstown; his longtime companion, Lois Williams, Bloomsburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
Viewing on Monday, May 11, at the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Gordon E. Smith of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
