Thomas B. Turner, age 63, 644 Bloom Road, Danville, died unexpectedly at his home and was pronounced dead at 7:05 p. m. Friday, October 11, 2013.
Born in Bloomsburg on May 13, 1950, he was a son of Merle B. Turner, Orangeville and the late Ida Margaret (Magill) Turner.
Tom was a 1968 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and received his bachelorâs degree in business education from Bloomsburg University and a masterâs degree in economics from Cornell University.
He was an insurance salesman and went on to become a financial advisor for several companies, working for Alpha Omega Financial at the time of his death.
Tom was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville. He enjoyed watching football games fly fishing and spending time with his granddaughter.
Surviving in addition to his father, who is a guest at Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, is a daughter, Alison M., wife of William R. Miller, Berwick; a son, Joshua Thomas Turner, and his wife Rebecca, Bloomsburg; a granddaughter, Lily Turner; and a sister, Janet, wife of Steven Mengle, Bloomsburg.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Peter M. Horn, associate pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, officiating. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-7 p. m.
