Travis T. Chapin

Travis T. Chapin, age 24, 36 Register Road, Stillwater, died in a ATV accident in Fairmount Township, Luzerne County, and was pronounced dead at 9:50 p. m. Saturday, April 30, 2016.

Born at the Lewisburg Hospital on May 1, 1991, he was a son of Tammy D. (Erdley) Chapin, Shickshinny and the late Chad N. Chapin. He resided in Huntington Township, Luzerne County all of his life and was a 2009 graduate of Northwest Area High School. He also received two associate degrees from Penn College of Technology, Williamsport.

Travis was employed as a surveyor by Borton-Lawson, Wilkes-Barre.

Travis was an avid hunter, fisherman and trap shooter. He always put other people first and enjoyed helping others; and especially enjoyed taking children hunting and fishing. He will be missed by his multitude of friends who were like family to him and they will especially miss his "Chapin" chuckle.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Chapin.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his companion, Taylor Mazonkey, who resided with him;   a brother, Kyle C. Erdley, and his partner Jessica, Stillwater; his paternal grandmother, Carol Chapin, Stillwater; his maternal grandparents, Donald Erdley and Patsy "Pat" Ninneman, both of Lewisburg; a niece, Lexi; a nephew, Kamden; three aunts: Donna, wife of Brad Beach, Fairfax Station, Va.; Dawn Renee Moist, and her companion Tim Henry, Bloomsburg; Michelle, wife of Dan Marks, Lewisburg; two uncles: Jeffrey Erdley, Mifflinburg and Jonathan Moist, Titusville, Fla.; two cousins, Alyssa Beach and Ryan Beach; and his best hunting buddy, Colt.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 30 Two and A Half St., Benton, with Rev. Bethany P. Wood, pastor of Town Hill United Methodist Church officiating. Interment in the New Columbus Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a. m. to 2 p. m.
