VICTOR A. WESTOVER

Victor A. Westover, age 76, Ridge Road, P. O. Box 1206, Lightstreet, PA 17839 died in Lightstreet on Tuesday morning, July 20, 2010.

Born in Fishingcreek Township on June 9, 1934, he was a son of the late Dean A. and Susan E. (Fritz) Westover. He resided in Lightstreet since 1941 and was a 1954 graduate of the former Scott Township High School in Espy.

Vic was a self employed excavating contractor from 1956 until retiring in 2007.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg.

Vic was a past president and life member of the Lightstreet Community Fire Co.. He also belonged to Oriental Lodge 460, F & AM, Orangeville; Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg; Royal Arch Chapter 218; Crusade Commandery 12; the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge 436; and was a member of the Dizzy Dozen Hunting Club for many years.

He served with the US Army from 1956 to 1958 and was stationed in Germany, Lebanon and Turkey during his service.

Surviving are his wife, the former E. Louise Dildine, a native of Turbotville, with whom he celebrated his 48th wedding anniversary on February 24, 2010; a daughter, Leigh D., wife of Todd Lavigne, Harrisburg; a son, Lynn W. Westover and his wife Lori, Doylestown; a granddaughter, Courtney R. Westover; a grandson, Shane M. Westover; three sisters: Edna N. Kessler, Beverly A. Neufer, Sandra L., wife of Robert E. Thomas, all of Bloomsburg; a brother, David E. Westover, and his wife Sonja, Bloomsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 p. m. in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke Way, Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan officiating. Interment in Lightstreet "Highland" Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg or at the Church on Saturday after 2 p. m. Oriental Lodge 460 will conduct Masonic Memorial Services on Friday at 7:45 p. m.

The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke Way, Bloomsburg or to a charilty of the donor's choice.
