Viola C. Wildsmith, age 96, of 56 Fisher Court, Danville, died at her home at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. She was in failing health for ten years.
Born in Bloomsburg on June 2, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Catherine (Slusser) Martz. She resided in Danville for the last 20 years.
In earlier years, Viola worked for the former Emenee Shirt Co. and Riegel Shirt Factory, both of Catawissa.
Viola enjoyed puzzle books, knitting and canning food.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wildsmith; five brothers: Samuel Martz, John Martz, Lafayette Martz, Donald Martz and Myron Martz and two sisters: Elizabeth Humes and Louella Hartzel.
Surviving are three children: Kathryn P. âKateâ Wisneski, at home; Harry W. Diemer, Bozeman, Mont.; Debra A., wife of Dewey Evans, Bloomsburg; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; six great- great- grandchildren; and two sisters: Grace Hill, Bloomsburg and Edith Diemer, Calif.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Creveling Cemetery, Almedia with Pastor Caleb J. Fritz, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Espy, officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
