Virginia J. Cole
Virginia J. Cole, age 84, 131 Main St., Catawissa, died at 2:06 p. m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for four days. She was in failing health since October.
Born in Union Township, Schuylkill County on Jan. 25, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Grace (Fenstermacher) Zimmerman.
Virginia resided in Stony Brook Circle, Orangeville for 28 years, moving to Catawissa a year ago. Her early life was spent in Bloomsburg.
She graduated from the former Ja Mel Beauty School, Bloomsburg and was a self employed cosmetologist much of her life, retiring in 2012. She also was employed for over 20 years by the former Baronol Garment Co., Bloomsburg.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Cole on Feb. 8, 1993; by a son, Fred A. Cole, II in Feb., 2010; by a brother, and a sister.
Surviving are two daughters: Linda A. Cole, Fredericksburg, Va. and Lauren J. Cole, Philadelphia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be next to her late husband in the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery, Ft, Myer, Va.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
