Wayne T. "Sam" Samuels
Wayne T. "Sam" Samuels, age 63, 18 Klingerville Lane, Bloomsburg, died early Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a brief illness.
Born in Bloomsburg on November 19, 1950, he was a son of the late George F., Sr. and Catherine E. (Singley) Samuels. He spent his entire life in the Bloomsburg area and was a 1971 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Sam was employed at the DelMonte Food Co., Lime Ridge, for over 25 years.
He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg and the Buckhorn Community Fire Co. An avid hunter, he participated in a pool league for many years.
Sam is survived by a daughter: Angela, wife of Darrin Trombley and a son, Kris Samuels, and his wife Tara, all of Berwick; six grandchildren; a brother, George F. Samuels, Jr., and his wife Cynthia, Catawissa; three nephews; one niece; and a sister-in-law, Susan Samuels, Browns Mills, N.J. He also leaves behind his dog named Katie and a host of good friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Samuels.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders officiating. Private interment will be made in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
Immediately following the funeral service, there will be a reception for family and friends in the Church social room.
