William D. Babb, Sr., aged 78, 18 Buck Road, Orangeville, died at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where he was a guest since March 3, 2014. He was in failing health for the past three years.
Born in Catawissa on July 26, 1935, he was a son of the late Fred and Leoma (Taylor) Babb. He resided in Orange Township since Sept., 1997 and previously lived in Bloomsburg and Berwick.
Bill was last employed by the Press Enterprise newspaper as a motor route carrier from 2005 to 2011. Earlier he was employed by the Berwick Forge & Fabricating. Co. for many years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially with his brothers, son in law, Larry D. Cole, Sr. and his grandson. He also enjoyed working on automobiles.
Bill was preceded in death by a son, William D. Babb, Jr. and a grandson, Zachary Babb.
Surviving are his wife, the former Wanna Lee Herring, with whom he celebrated his 17th wedding anniversary on July 2, 2013; a son, Larry McHenry, Mt. Joy; a daughter, Sharon L., wife of Larry D. Cole, Sr., Bloomsburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four children: Vickie Traugh; Timothy Babb; Lori, wife of Gene Longenberger; and Bobbi Jo Babb, all of Berwick; several additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: James Babb, and his wife Marian, Guyton, Ga. and Charles Babb, and his wife Dottie, Clearwater, Fla.; and a sister, Cheryl, Florida.
At the request of the deceased there will not be any funeral services and or viewing.
